Participants will stretch and strengthen their poetry muscles by taking risks and exploring a creative Poetry Playground.
Session 1: Jungle Gym - participants will try their hand at writing in the structured poetry form, haiku.
Session 2: Swing Set - participants will write a rhyming couplet poem utilizing rhyme and rhythm.
Session 3: Slide + Sandbox participants will feel a sense of weightlessness and write free verse poetry.
Then we will respectfully share our poetry from all 3 sessions.

This workshop is an opportunity for students to celebrate poetry by listening to, writing, and sharing poetry.
Each participant will tuck the poem they create into a denim pocket to take home.

In this workshop participants will collaboratively choose the theme and the poetry forms, then write, revise and illustrate their own poetry.
The poetry will be included in a group anthology that will be published by Bridget Magee’s publishing company: wee words for wee ones publishing.
Each participant will receive two contributor copies of the anthology within 3 months after the completion of the course.
The anthology will also be available for sale on Amazon.

Young learners will strengthen their English language listening and speaking skills by engaging in quality children’s literature, rhymes, games, and a craft centered around a theme.
This energetic activity-based approach allows participants to experience English in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment.
Possible Themes: Alligators, Cake, Chickens, Hats...or any theme that fits your group’s needs (with advanced notice).
